Paradise, Lost

This short film is part of my Master's thesis at ESAD Caldas da Rainha. After a brief trip, a young woman misses her return flight from Lisbon and spends the extra day wandering through the city. On the other side of the Tagus she encounters Sandro, a free spirit who is always on the move. The experience of the place becomes an extension and projection of the protagonist’s self. The film explores how life unfolds in the unplanned, the noise of the everyday that is only pereceivable through an undirected gaze, and the meaning of travel - in the context of modern alienation through acceleration.
